The Limestone Coast Academy of Sport (LCAS) cycling program provides high-performance coaching, education, and training opportunities to help athletes develop their skills and progress towards higher levels of representation within the sport.

The program sits between local representative cycling and higher-order opportunities, creating a vital stepping stone for young riders in the Limestone Coast region.

To be considered for the 2026 LCAS Cycling Program, athletes must:

  • Be competing in the U15, U17, or U19 category in 2025
  • Compete in one or more of the following disciplines: Road, Track, or MTB (endurance or gravity)
  • Reside, attend school, undertake tertiary education, or be meaningfully employed/training within the LCAS catchment area
  • Be a current financial member of their cycling governing body
  • Submit a nomination form before the advertised closing date

The following factors may be considered during selection:

  • Performance and results at relevant events
  • Physical attributes and capabilities
  • Potential to improve
  • Competitive ability
  • Individual application
  • Coachability and behaviour

Selected athletes will form the LCAS Cycling Squad, meeting on a scheduled basis for training sessions beginning January 1, 2025, and running through to December 31, 2025. Athletes will receive professional coaching and support designed to enhance their performance, build resilience, and prepare them for future representative opportunities.

An athlete levy will apply to those selected, which will be confirmed at the time of selection.
